Question: Electric Fan(s)
Has anyone ever done an electric fan installation on these older trucks?
Are there any kits available? I am curious because I live in East Texas and during the summer it gets very hot here but the killer humidity is what really keeps my trucks hot. I would love to have a single fan like what is on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It comes on at red lights and it runs after the truck it parked to cool it quicker. Plus you could save gas mileage at highway speed turning that damn fan when you really don't need it. Anyone?

do a search.. quite a few of the vendors sell kits and stuff and other guys have used fans from Nissan Altimas and stuff like that with shrouds they came up with. Good luck on it.

i installed a fan from J. C. Whitney. They have a 16" model for a bout 69.99. it seems to work well. my fan is not installed with a thermostat, it just comes one all the time when the ignition is on. i hope to upgrad though so i can get more cooling area. i will be using 2 smaller fans set at an angle with a home made shroud. my new setup will use a thermostat and be wired to run even when the ignition is off.

I installed a dual fan set-up from a local parts house. It has adjustable brackets so the fans can slide apart. I was able to mount the fans on the front of the radiator. They make thermostat kits in various temp ranges. I used a toggle switch to control mine. I live in Nor-Cal. The fans have been life savers.

I have a dual flexalite set up along with painless relay kit. Mine works perfectly even with a hopped up 400 sb.
