Rally wheel info please?
I'm trying to be stock/ period correct with my wheels.
I'm looking at this set for purchase. Set of 4, 15x8, 5 on 5, 4" backspace. Is the backspacing correct for 67-72 trucks. Im also not sure the center caps are correct... should be chrome?? Also didn't GM designate some Rally wheels as "car" and some as "truck" |

Re: Rally wheel info please?
Steelies and caps would be the way to go for period correctness.

Re: Rally wheel info please?
They may not be period correct, but they look great on our trucks, and those look great too, I say get em and roll em....I might be a little biased though

Re: Rally wheel info please?
To answer the rest of your question, you have truck/van rallies pictured. Car rallies were 5 slot. Color of the rally should be gray/silver. Car rallies were argent silver. Above is correct, they were never offered on 67-72, but so many folks retrofitted them that many think they are originals. They were available in 5 and 6 lug. (6 lug from 1/2 ton 4x4s - and HIGHLY sought after by todays K10/K5 crowd as well as the 60-69 crowd because they are a direct fit and clear disk brakes if the pre-71 crowd is inclined to add disks to their trucks). You are correct, center caps should be chrome. Replacements made of plastic are available, and they are actually quite nice. The yellow bow tie (a clue that they were never offered in 67-68 because the bow tie is not red, or 69-72 becuase the bow tie is not blue) is a trademarked piece and can be hard to find sometimes.

Re: Rally wheel info please?
The center caps are supposed to chrome, but the flat part down at the base where the bolts and lug holes are is silver.

Re: Rally wheel info please?
Agreed that Rally's never were an option but so many of our truck have them that one would think they were an option. They do look nice on our trucks. .
I bought the Corvette Rally's for my truck.
