My 63 4x4 Burb

It is finally running again. Here are 3 decent pics of it and I'm working on posting a video of it with me driving it for the 1st time.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb

Video of my 1st drive, which was today on my 56th birthday.

http://s3.photobucket.com/user/mtpys..._0871.mp4.html

The brakes need to be bled some more, needs exhaust, the carb tuned a bit more and a bunch of little stuff. But it sure was good to finally drive it.

I love the power steering we put in it. It made it so much easier to drive.

I tried to imbed the video but couldn't figure out how.

Mike

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb

I need to get the mechanicals squared away then a paint job and the glass work done. Plans are for the body to be a Ford (race..track or way or?) blue with a nickel top. Although depending on funds it might get a Maaco cheapie for a year or 2.

Nice burb ,video was a bit choppy on my flintstone computer..Is this an original 4x4 burb or updated frame etc....You could always paint it yourself..it is a lot of work but there are great home-garage paint jobs done here. IMO.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb

videos work fine for me.

Looks great. I'm jealous. Then again, I'm jealous of any running truck lol.

If you dont mind I do have a few questions. I'm building a '60 C30 Panel. I dont like the stock ride height of mine, it needs to go up. All trucks should go up . Yours looks like the height that I'm looking for. Those are 33's right? Did you do any lift or is it stock for a '63? You put in axles from an '87 right? Any other suspension updates? Sorry to ask so many questions but I like to get all the info I can before I start making final decisions.

They are 33s, it is stock height. I put on an 87 Burb front axle for the disc brakes. No other suspension updates except what was required to swap the axle.

It has ALL new brake hardware, new shocks, new gas tank and lines/hoses. All new wiring & front glass. Still needs the side glass rubber replaced. Has bucket seats out of a late 90s Chevy Tahoe. New Warn hubs.

We found a problem with the front axle seals this week, currently workin that issue.

New exhaust hopefully Friday.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb

Burb is off to the muffler shop today to get dual exhaust put on. Stainless steel system with chrome tips coming out right in front of the rear tires.

Some more bling, I sent off a 63 grill and bezels to be chromed. It'll be 3-4 months before I get them back.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb

I brought her home today! 10 months later. She's not done but getting close. Need floor and fenders cut and new metal welded in. Still have several small things to work on, then off to paint.

It sure was a blast to drive her the 20 miles home.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb

Some more progress, all the metal work is done. The rewire is done. Seats and seat belts are in. My buddy Dave has it now at his shop to Rhino Line the interior metal portion of the floor, the inside of the roof, the wheel wells and the frt fenders inside where they love to rust. I should have it back Monday.
