WTB:Battery box/tray..

I want a battery box or tray for my 78 chevy that is stock or aftermarket. As long as the price is semi resonable. Mine is completly rusted out and it is time to replace it.

I know of a place here that has a few of them still on the trucks. I am going there today for Old Rusty C10 to get his items, I can ask what they want for yours.

Thumbs up

Phantom, is that 30 for one or for both? I only need one. Are they the stock ones with the tray and the supports? I need the one for the right side only. Do you have a pic?
Thanks

Tommy, Thanks for looking for me. Let me know what you find.

Mike

Lightbulb

FYI:

The battery tray and support for a 73-80 truck is different from the battery tray and support for a 81-87 truck. It mounts differently. LMC sells the 73-80 tray for $12.95 and the side hanger support for $19.95 new, shipping would be $9.75. I speak from experience and quality is good for a Taiwan product.

BTW the LH battery tray for 81-87 is $69.95 and the RH tray is $29.95, new and shipping of $16.75. Phantom's for $30 shipped is a bargain for those who need that year application.

I checked today and they had a few of them. They are $10 plus the shipping. Let me know. I will only pull it out if you give the green light. I am going tomorrow to buy a new web cam. Broke my last one at a salvage

I don't know shipping without knowing a zipcode and the weight of it.
On something that old there will be rust, but not rusted thru. Only surface rust. What I do is bring them home. Sand them down and then spray some rust protector on them before I ship them out.

I will let you know when I have found a good battery tray. It might take me a few days, the guys here will tell you that. I won't get someone junk. If it doesn't work, I don't get it for them. You can check out the posts they have said about what I do. I am partially disabled and do this mostly as a hobby. It might take me til the middle of next week to locate a good one, but your name is on the list I take to each yard I visit.

are you sure about that? i've had 3 trucks that had dual battery trays on the passenger side. one was mounted with the standard tray, and the other was on a similar tray bolted to the inner fender, without the large support bracket.

I bought a driver's side Battery tray for my '84 truck (with support brace).
It was $69 or so from the Chevy place. It is nice.

That looks good. Driverside trays always seem to be more expensive that the pass. side ones.

I can still locate you one with the tray and leg supports/ mounts with hardware if you want me to. Going to the "playground" in the morning. To the best of my knowledge, they are still $10 there.
