Autometer mechanical guages

Just bought a set of autometer mechanical gauges(oil/water). Will be going with copper line, but cant find any posts on how to wire them. There are only 2 red and 2 blacks wires, so should be easy. Any help or pictures would help.

Re: Autometer mechanical guages

should be two wires only (black and white), for the illumination...the hard line will make the gauge read. that is how my mechanical Autometers are set up.

Re: Autometer mechanical guages

i'd want the lights to work when the stock ones are on so
I'd use the grey going to the cluster plug for light +
some may even have a fuse box spot
and black to the ebrake grounding bus

yes add the reds together and the blacks together ,power is number 2 grey
I'd run the neg somewhere else, away from this plug
the neg all goes down to one wire back there anyway

82 should have the grey in 2
safe bet would be at least 20AWG for patch wires
if you can't get that one the grey going to the radio plug would be an ez grab too
has three wires
radio power yellow
grey dimmer<-----this one
black radio ground

Re: Autometer mechanical guages

Took a look and I do have stock radio plug with 3 wires as described. Since I don't plan on putting tunes in can I just go straight to black and grey wires as + and ground? do I need to have any kind of fuse in between?
