72 Chevy to GMC frame swap question
Hi Been lurking around the edges for a while but now I have a real question. Looked at a 72 Suburban today that is a two wheel drive Chevy body on a four wheel drive GMC frame. It is six lug front and rear, discs in front and a huge plated gas tank. Short of having a stock GMC suburban to look at for comparison, are there any problems with this swap? Other than the wiring isn't the greatest, I cant see any problem areas as to fit and function. Is this as straight forward as it looks? It will never be "correct" but for a driver , what do you all think? All opinions welcomed!!!! Thanks

The swap is pretty straight forward.
Check out this project another member is doing, on the first page he does the body swap. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=510684

Re: 72 Chevy to GMC frame swap question
Thanks , The photos show must of what I was wondering about. My only remaining question, is there a way to identify the donor chassis? I'm just talking approx . year so parts would be gotten without having to match everything on a piece by piece basis.

Re: 72 Chevy to GMC frame swap question
Really the main difference is going to be the serial number on the frame not matching the VIN in the door jam.
Providing we are just talking frame.
