wood to steel bed
hey guys, I looked and didnt see any other post like this but im looking for advice because I have a 71 c/20 with a very rotted wood bed, I dont feel like dealing with the hassle of it so I was wondering if anybody has converted to a steel bed before and if so, what all did it require. I am hoping to just buy the two steel bed floor pieces and weld them in place...I will be using this truck to haul all sorts of randomness so durability is key...any and all feedback is appreciated, thx guys

Re: wood to steel bed
To replace the wood bed with steel you would need steel bed cross sills.. they are taller for the steel bed

Thx guys, I appreciate the help, and I'm glad I dont have to do a lot of unnecessary welding.

Re: wood to steel bed
You can buy a one pc floor and a new front bed panel for a steel floor and everything else will work,
