275 drag radials

I was wondering if anybody tried to run a 275/60/15 drag radial on a 47-54 chevy truck? I just ordered new wheels and tires for myne and im hoping they fit. I had test fitted a 28x13.50 on a 15x10 rim and it fit but it was very close to the inner bed. I wanted to run a radial tire for the streetability so I went with a 275/60/15 et street radial on a 15x10 billet specalities street lite rim. Im hoping that trimming will be a minor issue. I need the traction with my setup badly so I also built my own traction bars based on the smith racecraft "assassin" bars. This should get me through this year and depending on how good it runs I will either keep with the leaf springs or go all out on a 4 link setup. I'm not trying to set the world on fire but I am hoping to get my truck into the 11's NA and possibly 10's with spray.

jdougla9, small world, I see you are from Lancaster. There are a couple other guys from there also. I am from York. Good luck with the tires, but sounds like you may have to mini tub it if it is too close.

Re: 275 drag radials

thank you. Its no biggie if i do end up minitubbing it because i have always planned to do it anyways. However it might make my goal to get it down to the ocean city car show a little tight this year lol. I might have to cut the bed and run without wheel wells to get me down there...
