Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
I finally broke down and am doin the suspension/brake/steering upgrades that I have been gathering parts for... With LOTS of help/expertise/parts from CAPTAIN FAB (thanks again John!) Will be posting lots of pictures. I am open to and welcome any expertise/criticism; this is my first go round on something like this, so please offer suggestions.
I am doing a rear swap to a 71 rear w/ 373 gears and a mini spool locker (rear completely rebuilt - thanks Keith); C notch; adjustable trac bar; air bag suspension all the way around. Front getting disc brakes; power steering; sway bar; droppped spindles; air ride; new master cylinder; and of course CAPTAIN FAB's power steering box adapter/master cylinder adapter/steering shaft adapter... not sure about time for body mods/paint at this time; getting truck together for first goal of Ocean City, MD car show weekend of May 16th so............ Wish me luck, I will need it. Getting lots of help from my Dad - Leon; Brother - Jon; neighbor - Mike; buddy - Hype; and son - Scotty; so if you see people in the pics, prob. one of these guys. If you are around central PA, Lititz (America's coolest small town!) and see me out, feel free to stop in and check it out.

Re: Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
MORE pictures.... and Lots more to come; snowball affect is happening with a vengeance, now replacing trailing arm bushings... no sense only replacing 1/2 of the stuff with new. Cost is adding up quick, but will be like a new truck underneath.

Re: Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
Good to see you start a build thread.
As long as you get 2 days a week to work on it and have some help, you should get it done in time. Thanks for the compliments

Re: Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
Nice looking truck to begin with, and a cool stash of parts. I’m also looking forward to how the Buick wheels look, assuming they’re going on the truck. Good luck on meeting your deadline.

Re: Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
1 step forward, 2 steps back as always with these old girls.... pulled trailing arms off to put in new bushings and found this wonderful surprise hiding underneath... right now planning on patching up and running unless someone on here has 1 they will part with cheap, these parts pretty much killed my bank account... Waiting on parts, more updates to come... thanks for all the comments.

Pile of new parts to go on, and still don't have them all... $$$$$ is all you need.

Re: Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
Speedo drive help = found this shop on Flea Bay and I have to tell you they are the most knowledgeable, helpful people when it comes to getting the correct gears to make your speedometer as accurate as possible... LA speedometer gears and more, link to their online store:
http://stores.ebay.com/LA-Speedomete...p2047675.l2563 Kerry helped me the whole time. Just some useful info... Wagz

http://www.ebay.com/itm/380528877838...ht_1782wt_1255 thanks in advance, still waiting on parts, then more pics will be coming; just little things getting taken care of then back to the fun and the pics. Wagz

Re: Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
Also found another set here from Early Classic Enterprises; only $60 more but look "custom" made... just thinking the original style ones lasted 47+ years, why change now?? The ones from ECE come with poly bushing/ u bolts/ etc... think I am going that way. Like the more "custom" look
http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog.aspx?ProductId=1112 need opinions... thanks, Wagz

Re: Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
Just my $.02, I like the ECE ones mostly because of the powder coating, and all the hardware included...

Re: Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
Chad64, I am running a TH350; gears i went with are: 8 tooth and a 22 tooth. If you want, wait until I install and then I will let you know how accurate it is... anything is better than before. More pictures on the build coming soon....

Re: Elbow deep in my 66 - finally doin it!
Thanks to my buddy Hype (my metal magician),,, turn signals closed in the hood; slowly but surely making progress; still waiting on parts; ordered the trailing arms from ECE, seemed like the best bang for my buck; will let everyone know how they are and of course add pics of the install...
I have to thank my Wife for buying the trailing arms for me, what an Anniversary present! 7 years down & 100s to go. Thanks again Joni! Lovu. XooX
