2,4 Drop
Is a 2,4 drop a nice and level drop? Just curious.

This is 2 1/2 drop spindles and 4" drop coils in rear. Real close to level.

Tires are 275/75/15 2 /4 drop on the cheapo cut 1 coil on front and Jeep springs on the back.

Nice trucks everyone. I'm really liking the stance of a 2/4 drop. Not too low and not stock height. When I'm completely done with mine it will be bagged, but for now I really like the 2/4 drop.

I was on the same path as you as far as saving money with a 2/4 drop. But after I did it I just had to take it lower. When I called ECE to try to return the springs, he laughed and said, guys do that ALL the time.
My advice is to go to a car show and take a good look at other trucks with different drops before making up your mind. Doing it once saves some time and money. Good luck! |

Keep in mind that 2 in drop springs will probably not net you 2 in of drop.The original springs usually have some sag to them and it "may" already have a bit of droop to it.

My suspension is pretty much shot. All of my shocks, and front and rear sway bars are gone. It's time fir new components.

Just to note, .. and you kinda said it too  If your springs are original, BUT they are 40+ yrs old. They will have sagged a bit. When you put in new drop coils even though they are 2" drop you won't really get a full 2" drop compared to where it is right now. That measurement is taken against new original springs and doesn't take into consideration, age, use, and just general sag over time. Notice one mention of 2.5" drop spindles. I would suggest spindles up front (you will get the full drop this way) and even replace your worn factory springs and you retain the original steering geometry, ride quality, no alignment needed, original shocks can be used, etc. IF you put drop coils up front you change all that. Ride, geometry, alignment and shock length. Drop coils = $115. Drop spindles = $250 .. most definitely I would wait, save a little more $$ and do spindles up front. Coils in the back are easy. Chevelle, or 97-06 JEep TJ rear coil springs will also lower it but they are a bit softer. Your truck will be kinda squishy feeling in the back and you wont be able to haul a whole lot. .. just my .02

Well I thought that you have to convert to disc if you get drop spindles? I'm just trying to get my truck on the road but I need to replace a bunch of stuff and figured might as well drop it a bit in doing so.
