Nothing funner than an old boat and an old truck.
Its FINALLY sunny and warm in Oregon! I'm declaring today the first boating day on the lake here. Haven't had much to do on the Burb lately, but restoring a matching 70 Glastron has been keeping me busy. We finally had some sun and warmth here and took it out to the lake today. 90 horsepower in a 15 foot boat is kinda fun. Let's see the boats and old trucks!

Pulling a boat, what boat? Hehehe. My favorite is single lane hwy comming to a passing lane and I repectfully stay in my own lane at 60 ( 5 mph over ) and the guy behind tries to pass on the inside of the OLD TRUCK...fail Its not a 400hp LS motor, but the inline 6 has great torque and gets the job done. Thanks.
When I'm running it with the boat and fully loaded it gets 9 or 10mpg whether I need it or not, lol. |

Great pics guys.
Newfisher, that's the first pic I've seen of the Burb with the new wheels and tires. Looks super. |

Re: Nothing funner than an old boat and an old truck.
While I can't find the photo I was looking for, you'all get to see our family camper we owned in the early '90s. This set up is a 1965 "Buck Rogers-looking" chassis-built rig. Our boat was a '60s-era Owen 15' with a little white-body Mercury 50 and turquoise seats to match the camper, but I haven't found the picture we have of it yet. My kids and nieces and nephews all learned to ski behind the Owen. Since the Owen was always breaking down, our neighbor loaned me the boat shown. |

Re: Nothing funner than an old boat and an old truck.
I did a search for carburetor CFM calculator. These engines are way under carbureted in stock form. More than any other engine I entered. That explains a lot.

Camper looks awesome. Almost like the Avion campers of the 60s, but more flavor!

Re: Nothing funner than an old boat and an old truck.
I don't have any shots of the truck pulling the old boat but here's a couple shots of our toy. 1984 Sidewinder with a 150HP Mariner outboard. A real pleasure to cruise or tow with

Dubie, that's a clean sidewinder! Wasn't that the boat that jumped the dike in a movie?
