Radiator Question

Gents,

I am finishing up the complete rewiring of my 67, and decided I might want to get a new radiator to help battle the california sun. However, I am having some doubts about what size I need. I have checking into OReilly's and Champion radiators and whatnot, and their core size is roughly 17 by 281/4. That's the same size as my current radiator, but my current radiator looks too small. Do I have a BB radiator mount? My engine is from an 82 camaro, so I know it's not stock.

Re: Radiator Question

Looks like you already have wall to wall radiator. I'm assuming your upper retainers are in the outer set of holes ? Looks pretty thick too, like a 4 pass radiator.

Assuming its in good condition, you should have enough radiator to cool the kitchens of hell.

If you're having heating problems, chase down a shroud before you throw money at a radiator. A good shroud is instrumental to keeping your cool.

Re: Radiator Question

So is there an easy way to tell what type of radiator I have (3 or 4 core?)

I am currently running a large single electric fan (3000 cfm) but no shroud, any good recommendations for those? I am eyeballing the dual 14" setup from Champion radiators.

Re: Radiator Question

That's a 4 core radiator. If you have overheating problems it either clogged up or you have air flow issues.
