New addition to the family..why?..I dont know! 1970 C-30 tow truck
I just bought this truck today. Why?.. I don't know. I just had to have it! I went to buy a 72 K20 and a 72 C10 for parts which I did buy and then saw this 1970 tow truck. It's not everyday you can buy a old original Tow Truck. This was a Shell service station tow truck sporting the Shell colors. It's missing the engine but that won't be any problem coming up with. It still has the original protecto plate and paper work. This should be a cool build! Thanks, Tom

Re: New addition to the family..why?..I dont know!
The question isn't why would you buy it, but why wouldn't you but it?

And another one found! We need to start a wrecker club!
I've been restoring one for about 3 years now and will be done this summer if it kills me! See my 69 Custom/30 wrecker build thread for inspiration: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=448256

I've been looking for a tow truck like this for a while...but I've never been able to find one down around my parts. Awesome truck! I'm jealous.

That area code is 949 now. It hasn't been 213 for a looooong time.

Re: New addition to the family..why?..I dont know! 1970 C-30 tow truck
Glad to have another wrecker appreciater here. I dig the trim design of that bed. Mine has a bed style I never see on any other trucks...and I've looked a lot! Have you tried to Google that company? I just did and the top result is a company here in MD that may be a great resource for me. I didn't see anything on this outfit in LA,though.

I'm currently gearing up to work on my 69 Car Hauler. Its a cool truck too. I got it home last week. Here's a few more pics. The 69 car hauler is behind it. It's amazing that the road side reflectors are still there! Thanks, Tom

Great score! Looks like a fun project, and heck the tow truck is useful when you've finished it up and are looking to bring home the new project!
