Has anybody put a 60-66 frame under a 58?

I have a 58 fleetside and my dad has a 66 stepside, i was wondering if anybody has put a 58 on a 60-66 frame, or would it be better to do the camaro swap?

Re: Has anybody put a 60-66 frame under a 58?

A previous owner had done this swap on the truck I now have. I don't know how easy or difficult is was. The upside is that I can take advantage of aftermarket parts meant for a '64. This one has the trailing arm/coil spring rear suspension. The frame rails above the rear axle raise up some to give me a bit more clearance but I also had to raise the bed up to allow for this.

I thought the wheel base was wider on a 60-66 than a TF. I would go Camaro clip before going to the work to change frames.

Mine is grafted with a 1971 C-10 front clip. only had to use Modular spindles to bring in the track width on the front.
I would recommend going with the same since it can dropped ALOT lower if you use the front crossmember from Porterbuilt street rods. Come to think of it he has a front section that looks great and alot of people are saying that it isnt hard to put in.

Thanks for all the help, I guess I may go for the camaro clip now to find one around here in ky..

Also if I do go this way, would it be hard to bag the truck with this clip?
