Get a soft top. I haven't had my hard top on in a couple of years now. It's been raining today and I drove the Blazer.

Re: had to go topless

Mine has been off since i bought it. Basic back work to get the top off, but it's garaged. Built this simple system in 1/2 hour and was suppose to be temp, but we all know how that goes!!!

Re: had to go topless

Too soon? It was over 80 degrees at my house today.

I drove the Sebring convertible with the top down today.

Unfortunately, this is what my Blazer looks like right now:

LOL yeah it was 83 degrees yesterday when I did it and 93 degrees today at my work. I just dont want it to get rained on but that's the price I pay to be topless. Also just looked on KSL and missed out on a soft top for $75 bucks that has me bummed. Also sorry to hear about the blazer hopefully it wont take to much longer for you.

I guess I better start watching KSL. Someone got a good deal, even if it was just for hardware and a pattern.

Re: had to go topless

Took mine off back in 2000 and never have had it back on. But mine stays in the garage and only see lite use in nice weather. Spring, here in the south east has been cool and rainy. Had it out Sunday for only the second time this year. Really miss driving it. PS. Great looking Jimmy.

Yeah it makes me mad cause I'm on ksl everyday for hours in the classifieds looking for parts but I have been slipping the last 2 weeks or it would have been mine. Oh well.

Will probably take three people, Two inside and one pulling the green bars out. When i took it off it was just me and my brother, I lifted it with my back, arms spread out for balance while he put in the cross bars.

Re: had to go topless

So with the rain for a couple of days, do you have another driver? I've only been caught where I had to drive in serious rain once or twice. I've been thinking it would be nice to get a Bikini-type cover to at least keep some of the rain off. Of course, I have to get the Blazer back on the road first.

Oh my God does it suck I drive it everyday and today was the worse I do have another driver but I love driving the Jimmy to much to switch but I was going to ask what you do when it rains. What I do is put a tarp on the seat and console and I lift the passenger seat up I would love a soft top but to much money for my blood what I want to do it's find a cheap top and cut it to make a half top but I haven't found any on ksl so I will just suffer or clean my garage and stop driving it on rainy days

Re: had to go topless

I keep a tarp under the seat to cover mine up on rainy days. One day my daughter says, "Dad, I know you cover up your Blazer with the tarp when it looks like it's going to rain, but what do you do if it starts raining while you're driving?"

My answer: "I get wet."

My answer would have been... " Drive faster"
