Quality of Classic Parts of America doors
Has anybody used or know of someone who has used these doors from Classic Parts of America? I have not seen a lot of complaints on their products. They say they are 77-91 "foreign" doors. I don't know how worried I should be about buying parts that are foreign made. I guess if all the gaps fit tight and it's not made of 22 gauge steel, I can deal with them being made in another country. Thanks .

I can't tell you anything about that companies parts but everyone I have ever talked to says that aftermarket doesn't fit very well. I try to find the factory parts if possible from the salvage yard.

Re: Quality of Classic Parts of America doors
I havent bought doors from them for my 76 but I did buy some bedsides. Honestly the more I looked at them, the more i realized how much work they needed to make them straight. That seems to be the running theme with about any body part you get from the aftermarket. I also havent bolted them on yet so I dont know how they will line up either.

If they're "Foreign", they're Chinese.
A friend of mine, 40 year body man, says the factory stuff (in the 70's-80's) was much to write home about either. Keep in mind, we're building trucks not BMW's.

Re: Quality of Classic Parts of America doors
What other country would they be coming from?
As a readily available part, I don't think anyone sells GM parts anymore? If they do, expect to pay 3-4x what the "Foreign" parts cost. There is a guy locally advertising on CL a pair of NOS GM fenders for a 73-80. He wants $485 EACH for them, and I think $100 for a same vintage used hood. He has been advertising them for probably two years though?

With a name like CLASSIC PARTS OF AMERICA... Where would you expect their parts to be made? AMERICA?
Sad part is that company CEO is probley Chinese. He should be tarred and feathered

Most of your Re-pops will come from Taiwan. I will say that any after market panel will require some finessing to get it to fit right.

Re: Quality of Classic Parts of America doors
A friend bought some AMD items for his 67 Chevelle, the parts were awesome, factory like thickness and fit perfectly.
