1967 K20 Transmission vacuum/breather line question?

Hello all,

I recently picked up 2 – 1967 chevy trucks which have been pretty bastardized and mistreated.
Currently I am working on my K20, tightening up bolts, cleaning and just trying to make sure it is in decent health before I start driving it around.
It was shifting hard so I changed the modulator valve on the transmission and I noticed a vacuum line or breather hose on the top towards the back (see pics below).
Anyone know what this is for and where it should go?

It's a vent on the transfer case. You have later transmission and transfer case. Show us more so we can see what was changed or maybe even if it's an original K/20 with parts swapped,a 2wd converted to 4wd,or a '67 body on a later 4wd frame. Actually,I see nothing '67 about that truck.

Thanks, I will get more pics soon and your right. There has been a lot of mix matched parts put on this truck.
Vin is for 67 but front clip is from 72 and have not identified the motor yet but supposed to be a 396 which was not available in 67. Also it used to have manual transmission at some point so you are correct, that transmission, transfer case and motor came from something else.
Not looking to necessarily make this one period correct, that is what my plans are for my other 67.
Should the vent hose be routed up under the engine compartment or something?

Does the VIN start with a "K" for 4wd or a "C" for 2wd. '70 was the first year for automatic in trucks. The '69 Blazer was the first automatic 4wd w/NP205 transfer case. Even if it's a 2wd '67 converted to 4wd or a body swap,the 396 still would be from another vehicle. .69 was the first BBC truck. I know you're not concerned with "correct",just getting it "right". I've had plenty that were good once I went over the previous owners work. The ingredients are there,just not properly prepared. I'm just giving info to help you know what you have. Does it have the corporate rear? That's the big round banjo style pumpkin. Are the rear shocks staggered 1 front & 1 rear or both forward? I'm guessing it has front disc brakes. Is it a Dana44 axle or a 10-bolt?
