Shock Relocate Kit

I would like to do something now about my rear shocks. I have a 5" spring drop in the rear and I'm darn near on the bump stops. However, I haven't trimmed the stops because my shocks are almost fully compressed and I was a afraid I'd dump the full weight of the truck on them and crater something unintentionally. No notch.

So, I've seen folks here using the ECE shock relocation kit and the No Limit kit. Would anyone like to make a real strong case one way or the other on this? Thx.

Re: Shock Relocate Kit

I like the No Limit kit on my blazer. I think the outboard shock design makes it a little more stable, but either will help.

Re: Shock Relocate Kit

My '71 has a 4" spring drop on the rear and I used a shock mount relocation kit from CPP. My truck rides like dream, so I'd say the relocation kit had to of helped somewhat. The truck did ride pretty terrible before though due to worn out shocks, HD rear springs, and the bolt holes on my original shock mounts were wollered out.

Re: Shock Relocate Kit

i tend to stay away from the relocate kits for the rear, the bump stops i just took out, honestly i would fab some shock brackets.

the relocate bracket angle the shocks too much making them useless and the ride is bouncy.
or just get some shorter shocks

What relocate brackets have you used? I used the kit from CPP and they improved the shock angle a lot.

How did you come up with this?
The ECE shock relocators are what I always use.
They stand the shock up more vertical than a set of stock shock mounts.

Re: Shock Relocate Kit

I haven't used them on my own
I installed some on my buddy's 69 and the shocks were to far angled
Not sure if speedway makes there's different but I wasn't a fan

you dont grasp the reason why guys use shock relpcation kits/ sounds like u put them in wrong too

the reason is to get them vertical for proper operation

They are built the same as CPP, POL, McGaughy's and ECE's version,...

Re: Shock Relocate Kit

I used the kit from speedway, along with the shocks for a toyota tacoma. Rides great on my bagged stepside.

Re: Shock Relocate Kit

I really do like the looks of the kit from No Limit. It seems like a good angle for the shocks and pretty simple to install (I guess they're all simple to install). I know on another thread that someone was concerned about them lowering the scrub line, but my scrub line is currently lower than that up front - I think.
