I was planning on doing a 6BT, but this has me thinking...

This is quite the odd find. I consider myself to be the above average diesel junkie but most of my focus is on the Cummins 5.9. This looks to me like the 9.6L they put in 60's busses? anybody have any thoughts? it sure has me curious at this point, but not to the point of purchase.

I don't see a turbo. Diesel engine with no turbo = turd

The gear vendor OD unit are expensive, to that may be of interest. I'd still go with a 5.9 cummins.

I agree on the turd, mileage might be impressive although if it is the 9.6L mileage will suffer. I still do not know for sure the engine used, I cannot seem to find much information on that engine. At this point a PPumped 5.9 of some variety will still be used in my build

It looks like it might be a 265 or so. I haven't seen many of them around here. That would be a definitely cool truck. The price isn't all bad, but you'll probably need to get a CDL to drive it legally these days...............

Just don't let anybody important know about those "air brakes". I'm not too familiar with the 265 Cummins, would that be a truck engine or a stationary? It sure looks to be a N/A engine

The VIM-200 was used in marine applications for sure, My grandfather had a pair of them in a crew boat, They were VERY unreliable....To the point he repowered with a pair of 6V-71 Detroit's.

Im sure they were used in On & Off highway applications as well.

Im pretty sure all VIM-200's are N/A

This vehicle sure is quite unique! But not to the point where I would have to add it to my fleet. Too bad they didn't do it the right way with a 6BT the first time...

I think a 4.5 John Deere would be the cats meow. I just need the $$$.
