Re: smashed lwb70
So I have been working on this truck a lot. This is great and all but I haven't had much time to update this forum. I was originally going to just nip the front of the frame horns where they were pushed over... It turns out the frame rail was bent past the motor perches... So out with the motor and transmission and off with the cab!
I then sourced a larger frame section and cut it under the cab. I then re-enforced the frame with a second metal plate. I then ground everything down and hit it with some paint. While I was working on all of this I also blasted the core support, headlight bezels, washer bottle mount, and grill supports. The fenders have also been prepped for paint. They are cut in on the inside and everything is put back on the truck. I am also trying to get the factory A/C going-which I have all of the parts together, now to see if I have any issues...I still need to charge the system and set the condenser in. I have also traced/replace several bare wires and well as worked out a few issues on the gauge cluster. Everything is getting close to done, just waiting on paint. Most of the body work has been done. I then get to do a final fit with the hood and then hopefully be cruising down the road!
