help/suggestions needed...

Anyone happen to have bought a motor that was out of a vehicle that had really thick nasty oil from sitting a long period of time??

The motor in question was a good running 307 from a c10, 48, 000 miles.its getting an entire new gasket kit for all the items. Do I need to be worried about inside the motor being messed up due to this thick nasty oil sitting in there??

I dont want to dump a ton of money into rebuilding this 307(budget is tight , still gotta do full air ride, rims and tires)
Im hoping itll be useable since it had such low miles.

Motor is on an engine stand as we speak, if anyone can share suggestions or input of where to go id love to hear it.this is my first project of this magnitude so I like to gather info from the experienced guys on here.love this forum, so many great helpful guys. Thanks !!!

Need to clean it up of course. If it is just the pan from sitting it might not be too bad. Pull the pan and the valve covers and see what it looks like. Maybe pictures if you are not sure how it looks.

As far as a budget goes, air ride, fancy wheels and tires just make it a lawn ornament if you can't drive it. Clean it up, put useable tires on and drive it before spending for "pretty" and "wants".

Re: help/suggestions needed...

Im not doing air ride or wheels till the truck runs/drives well. Running/driving is priority , just dont want to piss a lot of $$$ away on the original 307 doing a rebuild when another smallblock is a dime a dozen.

Hoping the long time frame of the old oil sitting in it isnt gonna be a big issue on reusing the motor .

I will try and get pictures , its at a friend who is a mechanics shop.
