Big Block Lowering Question
Im installing a BBC into my 73 1/2 ton. I will have 2.5 drop spindles. Im going to use 3/4 ton BBC coils. How much should I cut to achieve a total of 4" drop on the 1/2 ton?

Re: Big Block Lowering Question
I have a 78' big ten. five lug. came stock with the 454.
I've installed a 3" spindle and cut 2 full coils from the spring. It has about a 6 inch drop. So If you wanted a 4" drop on yours, you should probably only cut off 1 coil which is about 1.5-2 inches. Measure twice, cut once (or multiple times if you want to go lower ![]() |

Re: Big Block Lowering Question
Looks good. But a 3/4 ton bbc spring is still different than a 1/2 ton bbc spring. Im figuring I might need to cut 2 coils.
