drove down from Cincinnati area to lexington to meet Wild4Wheels yesterday. saw his 67 panel trcuk. Boy am i jealous..
got a really nice hood for my 71 chevy truck project and a drivers fender for a GREAT price! tied the hood onto the ol' minivan and threw the fender in the back.
on the way down , the tranny started to lunge a little goin 85, so i stepped it down to 65 (the speed limit) and limped to the nearest gas station. put in a quart of tranny fluid and made it home ok. pullecx in the driveway and the brakes started squealing. Take the parts out and inspect/drool over them.
check the front end, trans fluid stinks, brakes are worn down to squeak bar, tie rod ends need replacing.
Cut my finger down to the bone on the hood lifting it off the roof by myself. it bled for 4 hours.
spilled a whole 32 oz. beer in my lap at dinner. came home to 5 voicemail messages from an irate customer, complaining about his pool liner not being done. went out to the garage to heal my wounds with a couple of cold ones, and stepped in a pile of dog sh$t barefoot!
All in all, though... A GREAT DAY! and
A BIG "Thank You" to Wild 4Wheels for his help to a fellow truck head.

LOL1 It's amazing what a good rust free part will do for anotherwise crappy day.
Is the minivan wounded...or is it goint to the great junk yard in the sky?
If it is just a beater/parts fetcher...there is a dayton area member with a mid '80's full size wagon real cheap. (which a wagon is way cooler then a minivan any day of the week)

Great story! You made my day! All I did was change coolant in my wife's Jeep - not near as much fun as you had!

Sorry to hear about your beer..

D@mn, that's too bad...thought your day started out pretty good! I'm just glad ya made it back to CVG... when we got back from the Somernites Cruise I found a good sized puddle of tranny fluid in my driveway.

Bummer about the finger man, should grabbed the 19 year old to help ya! hehe

Oh, and no worries mon, happy to help you out with the parts..see ya on the flip side.

chitty man, yesterday me and some buds were camping and one of em almost lost his toe, we were pulling a washing machine out of this creek near our campsite and he slipped and wedged his toe and fell and ripped it right off, skin was holding it on, several stiches later it was back on, what a weekend though, im just beat and it isnt even over
