Rear Question?
I have a 10 bolt 8.5" rear and im going to install a new moser 30 spline c-clip axles, new auburn limitied slip diffierential, new richmond 3:73 gears, and a ratech install kit, i wanted to know if these 10 bolts can handle alot of power cause i didnt wanna spend a ton on a 9" rear, but with my setup can someone tell wat kind of hp i can put to these things with the new setup, plus is there anyway to beef up a 10 bolt rear? im either going with a ls1 or a 350 with a turbo.

Re: Rear Question?
I am by no means an expert... but I would think a 30 spline 10 bolt would be pretty stoudt. There are some threads on here about just that.

Re: Rear Question?
Hope you're not really putting a cone type Auburn in. Not rebuildable and weak. For that kind of money you could get a true Eaton positration, or a Detroit locker. But the 10 bolt is plenty stout, many guys in the 12's and even 10's, just like any axle, avoid shock load and let the tires spin if they need to.

Re: Rear Question?
I'm putting about 950 HP through my corporate 8.5" ring gear 10 bolt.
Production housing with axle tubes welded to the cast center section; Mark Williams spool and axles, C clip eliminators. Car is 3950 lbs with me in it, goes 9.85 at 136 mph in the quarter. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/fea...olet_chevelle/ K

Re: Rear Question?
If the Buick gnx guys can run 8s with them they are good for me. Performance wise they are stronger than the truck 12bolt. You can add a ta performance girdle cover on the back and weld the tubes if your concerned
