Best source for bed pieces
I'm in need of practically every panel on my 68 stepside, other then the tailgate.
Where's the best place to get replacement pieces? LMC, brothers?? I wouldn't mind a whole new bed, but not sure if I can find one without the same rust issues. Ideas? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Best source for bed pieces
from what I've heard on here i'm going with mar-k...only bought crossrails and front panel so far (lack of money) but stuff looks good...need more pieces before I know how well it bolts up....lots of custom options available for stake holes, latches,no chains, etc

Re: Best source for bed pieces
You might chack the list of BB vendors.Whoever is closest to you will probably be the best deal since shipping large parts can get pricy.

Re: Best source for bed pieces
There is a place in Bowling Green KY and from what I have heard they have the best quality reproduction stuff anyone has ever seen. I'm not sure what brand this stuff is but the words 'Better than OEM quality and fit' have been heard more than one time.
www.sokyclassics.com I hear you can get a complete bed for around $2300 picked up. Buy an OEM bed for $1200, have it shipped, blasted, fix the marginal rust spots and you'd have that in an original bed easily. I think I'm going to get one from them.

Re: Best source for bed pieces
Shipping is certainly going to get pricy with those parts. But as far as quality, I'd agree that Mar-k stuff is really nice.

Re: Best source for bed pieces
I picked up my bed from sokyclassics in Bowling Green, KY, as Chad said above. I've been more than happy with their products and customer service. You can see a couple pictures of it in my build thread if you'd like.

Re: Best source for bed pieces
I've used the Mar-K cross sills, header panel, tailgate, rollpan and bed bolt kit. Quality stuff and great customer service. Made in the U.S.A.!

Re: Best source for bed pieces
I just received my bed from GMC Pauls.
All of the boxes are marked Woodall. Well packaged, nearly stock gauge raw material. Cant say anything about assembly yet, but give me a couple weeks. The only parts not included are the strut braces for the front of the wheelwell and lights. Shane |
