17.5 Tire suggestions
Does anyone have any tire suggestions for a stock 17.5 rim ? I'm putting them on my 63 GMC 4X4 half ton. Would like a little more aggressive look than just a stock radial tire.

Re: 17.5 Tire suggestions
I looked for 17.5 and 19.5 just to prepare for the 4x4 I might get and came up empty. Although I was at Discount Tire and some one ordered a set of 285/65/16 BFG Mud terrains for a truck and they look good like a new version of bias ply tread. Tall and narrow like these trucks came with. You might want to look for a more available rim size.

The period 8-17.5 tire is available with traction tread, but it is a bias ply tire not radial.http://www.stausaonline.com/light-tr...r-traxion.html

When you get them found and mounted please show a picture. I hope to be shopping for the same tires very soon.

That tire looks great with the pie crusty edge. The listed diameter seems off at only 26.6 " ?? I would have guessed much taller. |

Re: 17.5 Tire suggestions
I gave up on 17.5 due to the price. I went out and got a set of 16 inch 8 lug steel rims and mounted a set of 235/80/16 Kumho tires. Good performance and not exactly a stock look. Here is the link where you can see a picture.
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes There diameter is listed as 31.7 but I think they are slightly shorter. They are still taller than the old 17.5 spare I have lying around and taller than the Yokohama Super Steels with a lot lower price. If you are like me, a "goodyear overdrive" is an important part of the tire selection process. |

Im leaning towards these,http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....07250000390781 one because its a LT radial .But the price with shipping is around 1600.00 . I bought a set of these in 15s, much cheaper, and they look great on my 63 half ton 2x4 longbed.
