Production numbers
I just bought an 1957 1/2 ton Panel Truck 3105, and wonder if anyone out there knows how many they made?
It seems like they are pretty rare... Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Production numbers
Detailed numbers by model are not available, only totals for the year. You can google it and a number of site with the numbers show up. I think if it is a Canadian truck they may have kept better records, but not sure. I do remember finding a site once, and did not save it, that showed the total production by country for the world. I was very surprised to find how diverse the reach was. Having said that most agree that the half ton long bed stepside was the most produced, followed by short bed step, then cameo. 3/4 and 1 ton were only available in long and extra long bed, or without a bed for a flat bed or after market service unit. Look at the old car manual link in my signature to get an idea of the variety of units available. In addition to the truck there were panels, surburbans and you could even get one with the cab and fron clip but open back to be sent to a custom fabricator for a custom back, like quad cab or special box van.

Re: Production numbers
Thanks for the reply!
I'm kind of surprised by your facts, guess we are spoiled with all kinds of records of production numbers and soforth...but would still be nice with an at least approx by percent or anything else, just to get an idea I am going to look into where my truck were put together...the heresay is that is from CA... Re: Production numbers
I found this but it doesn't list panels http://www.chevytrucks.org/marvinsga...roduction.html
I had a 57 Panel with a really hot 327 in it when I lived in Texas in the Mid 70's that was a lot of fun but didn't get very good gas mileage.

Re: Production numbers
here is the vin decoder, it will tell you where it was assembled. Second one is the production numbers. Like I said everything is lumped together.

Re: Production numbers
You might also find something here http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs...olet-Truck.pdf If you can get it to open but it wouldn't open for me on my slow internet service.
