Oil pressure sending unit for an idiot light
Okay, my oil light wouldn't come on when I switched the key on...checked the bulb first and it was okay, then removed the wire from the sending unit, grounded it and the light came on. So - is there any point in tinkering with the sending unit or should I just toss it and go buy a new one?

Just buy a new one, the contacts are worn in the old one.
