Brake master cylinder

Is there really a difference in the power brake master cylinder compared to the non power?

Yes for non power the mc push rod cylinder is resesed further to prevent the rod from falling out. The power mc push rod cylinder has just a dimple on it.

That's the case with disc brake 71/72 applications, but my understanding is that master cylinders are the same, whether you have a power booster or not if you've got a 67-70. Is that what you ment?

Ya sorry. The way I understand it is 71/72 were mostly power brakes that's why if you go with manual brake with front disks its a pain to find a manual mc.
