Wide Angle Rear View Mirror

Ok, so this is the third time this summer my rear view has fallen off. And I was wondering if anyone has an experience with these wide angle mirrors. I remember a couple of guys my dad knew back in the 80's had them.

Re: Wide Angle Rear View Mirror

Get blinded easily with them. And they bolt to the roof so no more sun visors. Every Honda kid has them here in my area I swear haha

What have you tried to glue your mirror on with?

Re: Wide Angle Rear View Mirror

I had one in the 80s...they pretty much eliminated side mirrors as well. You can see everything behind you.....

But that was in the 80s

Re: Wide Angle Rear View Mirror

I got a clip on wider mirror from JC Whitney about 10 years ago. I did not like the stock mirror narrow field of view for such a large vehicle as a square. It works well but you can't flip the sun visors down without moving the mirror.

I've tried 3 different brands of rear view mirror repair kits from my local auto parts store. Is there something that's better, I could try?

My truck has one of those shelf-it things. So what I was thinking is that if I could mount a mirror to to bottom or back side of that shelf. And it shouldn't bother the sun visors or have to make any new holes in the truck its self.

Re: Wide Angle Rear View Mirror

On my truck, I used a large sheet metal screw to attach the stock mirror to headliner trim/edge of windshield opening. You can also buy an old style rear view mirror which is designed to mount to the headliner trim area.

Re: Wide Angle Rear View Mirror

Honestly that Mirror stuff has never worked for metro keep them glued. Then I tried model CA-aka superglue and a couple of times it didn't work but now it's been going for a year with no incident.

Just clean the area really really good

Re: Wide Angle Rear View Mirror

Mirror glue from a parts store never works. Go to a glass shop, pay the five bucks to have them use the right type of glue, and be done with it.
