How hard would it be to find one of these?

like the title says guys how hard would it be to find a 1984-87 chevy pick up short bed in another state that aint California? what are their price range?clean,stock,no rust?

low= rough condition a couple hundred, high=restore maybe 7-10. but the real question is one that will pass emissions because in Oklahoma good luck! no check means you can have a turbo on top of the hood

Not sure where you're going with this. GM made millions of these trucks, definitely many in Texas and any other state. I know you were having some issue with Calif emissions, are you moving out of state. Buying an out of state truck isn't going to help you with Calif smog stuff if you bring it home. Curious.
Search Craig's list in other states, should be plenty for sale.

Which maybe a lot easier then trying to get his smog legal.

its excatly what i had when i bought my truck the owner gave me another one but with no engine and was hit in the bed but i junk it.

why wouldn't it help me if i buy a truck from out of state? Even if i find one with the original stock engine?

An out of state vehicle still has to be able to pass California smog laws to register it here.

Desert cars (AZ, NV, TX) are great, but if they were left outside they're sunburned. Cali trucks are good even if left outside. Keep searching the AZ, NV, TX, and OK states - you'll find rust-free stuff that was kept inside every now and then. A lot of mine have been like that...
