Brake switch

Can you please tell me which side of the brake switch I run my power to? I assume I'll have to splice into the tail light wire from the other post to make my brake lights function. Anyone have a picture or 2?

Re: Brake switch

I doubt it makes any difference as to which side you use as in and which you use as out. I'd go with the cleanest way to route the wires.

Re: Brake switch

your brake light switch is on/off, it won't matter which side you hook the hot wire to.
after the switch the wire runs to your turn signal switch not your brake lights.
tail lights have 2 elements; your stop and turn lights are the same element, the other element is your tail light
look at the painless performance site for how to wire your turn switch

here is a basic wiring diagram for stop/turn/tail light wiring with the stop light switch towards the bottom
our trucks have running lights up front too, this diagram only has turn signal lights
the painless manual shows how to hook those up too
