Anyone live near redding CA?
Found some doors on the Redding Craigs list and was wondering if there is anyone from that area that might be able to check them out and help get them on a Greyhound bus to get them shipped to me. They are doors for a 55-59 LCF.

Re: Anyone live near redding CA?
About shipping, I can palletize the doors for truck shipping.
Over the last 15 years Grayhound sold all of its California Properties. The Redding Grayhound station was shut over a year ago and torn down last week. You'll have to check into how to ship the doors and from where. I had a pallet of trailer parts shipped from southern California to my door and was shocked at the $ 580. freight charge. So beware of the shipping cost. Glen.

Re: Anyone live near redding CA?
Glen,
It says there is a greyhound station in Reding currently. Here is the address it has on the web. REDDING GREYHOUND STA 1530 YUBA ST (RABA TERM) Redding, CA 96001 Could it be a different one than the one that was torn down? I will check about getting a pallet shipped and let you know. Shane

Re: Anyone live near redding CA?
The one that was torn down was a classic art- deco 1939 Grayhound bus station.
The replacement is nothing more then a bus stop at the local Redding Area Bus Authority "multi transportation bus / train stop". Its completely unmanned.

Re: Anyone live near redding CA?
Some of the "bus stops' at mini marts and such do take freight. I shipped a 54 Pickup front fender to a kid in Phoenix a few months ago at one .
Buggy5472 you might call the number for the bus stop in Redding and ask if they do indeed take freight. I don't know if Greyhound will do COD but that might be an option. I'd look over the photos carefully as Redding is in the NW corner of Cali and is on the coast so there may be rust issues that you might not see if they came out of Mojave or that area. They are going to have to be boxed individually to keep the weight under 100 lbs each. I've raided the local furniture store's cardboard pile more than once for boxes big enough to ship fenders, doors or trunk lids. You might check into creating an account and see if a package can be shipped from another place and billed to you too. That would make it a lot easier for everyone involved. The seller wouldn't have to wait for shipping costs plus you would know the exact shipping costs. On a side note I have both a UPS account and a Fedex account from when I was selling a lot of stuff on Ebay. The Fedex account allows me to print a return ship label that I can send to someone to stick on a box and drop it off at Fedex. It's charged straight to a credit card that is only used for Fedex and Ups shipments and the pieces show up at my receiving box in a reasonable time frame. If you have to have stuff shipped by truck freight have it shipped terminal to terminal for you to pick up at the closest freight terminal as that usually saves a bunch over having it picked up and delivered, especially if it is delivered to a home address.
