Rotor Bearing packing Help
So I pulled the front rotors off my 71 c20 to swap them and noticed that the area in between the front and back bearing races are packed full of grease too. Not sure why- this area doesn't touch the spindle right? I always thought it was just the bearing and race that needed grease- am I wrong?

Re: Rotor Bearing packing Help
Grease is here as a reserve. It is a good idea to keep grease to make sure the bearings don't run dry from migration.

Re: Rotor Bearing packing Help
I agree with the previous post. I'm a H.D. Mechanic by trade. I always pack the rotor hub cavity and coat the spindle with grease. Also it helps prevent rust to form from condensation when it gets hot then sits.

Re: Rotor Bearing packing Help
If you don't, the grease worms could get in and make for a lot of trouble!!
