classic auto air perfect fit question
I'm looking at the classic auto air perfect fit a/c system. Everything I've read indicates it's a nice set up. Now to my question. I'm hoping someone on here has the system and can easily answer this. I know the system uses the factory non-a/c heater control and I really hope I can purchase the control for the factory a/c and use that instead of my factory non-a/c controls. Is this possible?

Re: classic auto air perfect fit question
You need to keep reading and get more info. Go to installation manuals and find the 67-72 manual. Print it out. Then read it again.
Now go down to the bottom of the manual section where it says, Factory Air Adapter kit. read and print that section as well. The first page there shows you that if you use the AC control panel, one of four controls is not used and left uselessly hanging there. Not very impressive. I helped a friend install a Vintage Air on a Mustang. They do the same thing when using a 4-control lever AC unit. It looks like Vintage Air does the same with the 67-72 truck. Classic Air has an electronic and a cable operated unit in their catalog. Which evap comes with the so called, perfect fit system? I didn't look that hard. You need to. I would also look at http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalo...120132107.html Myself, I would want an electronic evap with an electronic controller made for the unit. Read every assembly manual you can find from each of the companies before I made a decision.

I have the system, and it works really well. Pretty easy install, and I liked that the hoses all came pre-crimped. I used my factory non-ac controls, and they worked well. Not sure why you would want to change that.
