I took off my steering wheel and stripped the bolt. Now I can't get nut on. Any suggestions?

Re: Stripped Column Steering Bolt
Go borrow or buy a SAE Tap n Die set try n salvage your column. Pull your steering wheel back off re-thread the shaft n use the correct tap for your nut or just replace it. If you mess this up you will be pulling n replacing the shaft in your column so be careful.

Re: Stripped Column Steering Bolt
Before ya just crank a Die down on it take a look and see if you can file the bad thread enough to restart the nut even just a turn, that way you know the Die will start properly. I have seen the use if Die's absolutely destroy threads many times in the hands of the experienced.. So Yea go buy the Die you need, some hardware or industrial supply places will sell them separate, but also buy some thread repair files, "Micro files" too.
