Very slow/ not working turn signals
I finished up installing my factory wiring harness. I noticed my turn signals blink very slow and sometimes it will take 20 or 30 seconds to start blinking. Do I have a ground that I am missing? I have a new taillight harness and have all the grounds connected to clean metal.

Have you checked your bed to frame ground?

each and every light bulb needs a ground in order to work

Re: Very slow/ not working turn signals
I have the grounds from the headlight plugs and front marker lights to the radiator support. The rear side markers ground to the mounting screw. I do not see a ground out side the brake lights. I did not clean the tail light housing where it mounts to the bed. I do belive the wiring has its own ground? I do not have a ground from the bed to the frame. I will add one or two?

Re: Very slow/ not working turn signals
One with 12 gage wire will be fine, you also need on from cab to frame and core support to frame. I also run a short negative battery cable from a starter bolt to the frame.

Re: Very slow/ not working turn signals
How fast is the wiper motor. Does it go slow also? I had this problem and it was caused by low voltage. Do you have a DVOM to check battery voltage?
Another way to test the theory is to use jumper cables on the battery from another vehicle while they are both running and see if the signals flash faster. |

Re: Very slow/ not working turn signals
I have not been able to get the wipers going yet. I turned them on and nothing happened, I have not had time to look in to that problem yet.
looks as if I have some ground wires to install. I will try that and see what happens. Thanks, Wes |

Re: Very slow/ not working turn signals
body of light bulb to body of socket GROUND
body of socket to taillight bucket GROUND taillight bucket to sheetmetal of bed GROUND sheetmetal of bed to frame GROUND frame to battery neg terminal GROUND for best operation all should b bright and shiny metal to metal contact and for good luck and long life a smear of dielectric grease to finish it off each and every light bulb sjhould be addressed in this manner fer the lights to work

Re: Very slow/ not working turn signals
Also, check your flasher. If that is bad, turn signals will not work.
