Loose steering only to the left
Ok I know the answer is going to be just get a new manual gear box, but my question is I just have play to the left and not to the right. Does this sound right?
Everything has been replaced put the idler arm and the gear box and pitman arm. I want to try and tighten up my gear box an 1/8 of a turn to see if it helps. |

Re: Loose steering only to the left
If that is where the free play is at then yes tighten the gear box up. You should be able to turn to gear box at the rag joint and see how long it takes for the pitman arm to move. Try it is small steps like you said, 1/8 inch. If you get it too tight, you may feel a tight spot in the center and the only thing to do at that point is to rebuild the gear box or replace it.
