The later sixes had h.e.i. What about grabbin' up one of those from the junkyard? I know they don't look vintage, but if looks are important, you best be ready to open up yer wallet for a Pertronix or something similar.

Why put used JUNK-yard parts in? You figure most of them are 30 + years old and worn. If you want an HEI, just go buy a rebuilt unit at the local parts store for a 1975 Chevy pickup with a 250 6 cyl. You can buy the whole tune up for that engine(cap rotor, plugs, wires) and do a complete conversion economically. Save money by doing it once and be done with it.

I supose your right. I forget not everybody has Pick n Pull. I've just gotten used to strolling around looking at junk parts and choosing the best in the yard to pull. A lot of times where distributors, caps and wires are concerned I can usually locate a fresh set up installed by some poor soul who gave up midway thru trying to fix up his ride.
