65 gmc rear leaf springs best way to lower it?
I HAVE A 65 GMC AND IT HAS REAR LEAF SPRINGS. I DONT KNOW IF I WANT TO BAG IT YET, I PUT A SHACKLE DROP ON IT BUT ITS NOT LOW ENOUGH. DOES ANYONE KNOW A BETTER WAY TO LOWER IT. I HAVE SEEN SOME AXLE FLIP KITS BUT EVERYONE WANTS AN ARM AND A LEG TO INSTALL THEM.PLEASE IF ANYONE HAS ANY ADVISE PLEASE LET ME KNOW

First off it's not nice to yell on a forum.
Turn your 'caps' off when you're typing! How many leafs in the spring pack? You can remove a couple to lower it. |

lol sorry about the caps, i believe we removed the over load springs, i might just have to pony up the cash and intall the flip kit

Early Classic Enterprises has 4" lowering leafs that will maintain your ride and load capacity. If that's not low enough, you can can put your drop shackles back on for a 6-inch drop, and you still don't have to notch the frame.....

I took off all of the short springs and put on the longer shackle and got a little lower than you but not much. I am also running 275-60 15 tires that are lower profile. if you get the flip kit it might lower it too much. it will lower it 5-6 inches.

THe lower you go you need to watch your pinion angle. |
