Cummins swap cost advice.
I have a 85 C30 dually with a junk 6.2/4spd. I have the chance to pick up a 96 Dodge 2500 2wd 5.9/5spd for 1500.00.
What kind of extra cost for the swap am I looking at? I have a full fab shop at my disposal and I'm ok with using it. I'm just trying to get a ballpark idea on cost vs just putting a gas burner in it and being done. I'm not really looking for towing power, the most it'll ever tow is a car trailer. Thanks for the advice! |

Re: Cummins swap cost advice.
That's a damn good price for a 215-horse P-pump Cummins & NV4500.
With a donor truck it's not too bad financially to get this done with alot fab work. Using as many parts of the Dodge as you can Will save a lot of money like..... Radiator & Intercooler. If done properly, The Dodge radiator hoses, Intercooler pipes & shroud will fit. Motor mounts and stands. Alternator & PCM, The PCM controls the Intake Heater grid & Alternator. The Dodge power steering line will bolt to your hydro-boost unit. Doing this is cheap but NOT easy. Say another $2000 not including any labor. |

Re: Cummins swap cost advice.
I think I'll just pass the deal onto someone else. I can't' see putting another 2 grand into the swap.
Thanks for the info! Posted via Mobile Device |

I was thinking 500 if you can do the work yourself.
