I need a cup holder.
I really do not like not having a cup holder. I do not want a cheezee looking one . How about some pics of cup holders with a bench seat.

Re: I need a cup holder.
Surely there is something that could be strapped down by the center seat belt?

Re: I need a cup holder.
I wonder if there is a console that could be strapped down by the center seat belt and give a couple of cup holders?

Re: I need a cup holder.
I will look. I was thinking of something sitting on the floor in front of the seat about the same height of the seat but not sticking to far forward

Re: I need a cup holder.
Here's a cup holder idea that I got from this board years ago and I still get a lot of positive remarks on it. Just checked and it's still available on Amazon, but I got mine at WalMart. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ferrerid=25933

Re: I need a cup holder.
I have the type that sit on the floor, like at any parts chain store, in my 71. It isn't the prettiest thing but it does the job well.

Re: I need a cup holder.
I got mine at Dollar General...they go into the window slot.
Cost a whopping $2 for both of them.

Re: I need a cup holder.
I got something similar to this. I found one a little longer and cheaper. It straps to my bench seat and works great. The center console is a plus. It's a must on long drives.

Re: I need a cup holder.
XMITSU10
I bought the items to do this drink holder but could not find a spot that would work and not hit the transfer case shifter. When I had read that thread I really liked the idea but can't make it work in my truck. I don't care for the ashtray drink holders so for now I have one of the cheapy floor drink holder/console sitting in the middle of the seat. Have a great day everyone !! Tom |

It's on a truck that is for sale on eBay. I think it may be a custom made part?

Re: I need a cup holder.
Look at 88-94 chevy pick up cup holders. I have one mocked up , just need to make the brackets , bolting it to the heater box(ac truck) and the two screws that hold the heater control in. Should work nice , just not enough energy in the day to get it done

Re: I need a cup holder.
Somebody sells those. I have seen them in 1 of my 67-72 truck catalogs.

Re: I need a cup holder.
I posted this a few weeks ago. I had been looking for a cup holder(s) and also wanted to add two more speakers without putting in the kick panel speaker option. In the past I have cut holes in the doors in other trucks, but the speakers would get wet. So my son and I built this earlier in the summer. As you can see it has been tested and passed !!. It has a place for phones and other stuff. Speakers sound great because they are enclosed in the box. The cups are supported by two 4" PVC pipes cut to about 4 " long. Cool thing is that the only extra expense was the black paint and the speakers. All the rest we used scrap lumber and PVC pipe. Also, if I want to I can disconnect the two speaker wires and then remove the whole box.

I'm still getting used to the complete absence of cubby holes in my '67 - anything that I don't want flying or sliding from one side of the truck to the other (both the seat and floor are really slick) has to go in the ashtray, glovebox, or a large cardboard box sitting in the passenger floorboard. |

I've had good luck setting things on the floor. Works good if things are less than half full and you have a rubber floor. But then I don't have to turn very often or try to break the rear tires loose. I had a 16oz plastic budweiser cup about 1/4 of the way filled with diesel in the bed just sitting on the box floor in between the bedside and my fuel tank. It stayed upright until I dumped it out after about 2 weeks cuz it was half full of rain water. It wasn't leaning on anything either. With the way our roads are that's pretty miraculous.
