Heater box

Wondering what size bolts I need to put my heater box back on the firewall. I lost mine a long time ago and looking for replacements. Thanks

Re: Heater box

If you are referring to the inside box then the bolts are special as they clip to the box. The outside box uses the inside box bolts plus some sheet metal screws, which I believe are no. 12's.

If you need the inside box bolts then a WTB on the parts board may be the quick way to solve your problem.

Re: Heater box

Just took mine apart today and its a combination of sheet metal screws and a two studs protruding from the firewall that had nuts and washes on them.

My heater box was badly rusted any advice on repairs?

what condition was yours in?

New heater core I bought dosent fit well either.

Re: Heater box

Here's what I just removed from a '72 w/o AC. One screw is missing. Not sure of the size of threads but 1 was 7/16 and the rest have 3/8 heads..

Re: Heater box

Just found a replacement heaterbox for 67-72 WITHOUT AC only. You just have to transfer your heatercore and fan motor over.
