Disc brake conversion help!
This is my first post ever.
Ok here's the deal.... I have a 1967 c10 with drum brakes front and rear. I'm going to convert it over to power disc on the front. I have some parts already. Parts I have is.... 72 c10 drop spindles Power brake booster 72 c10 Inner and outer tie rods and center link 72 c10 master cylinder 6 lug aftermarket rotors to fit the 72 drop spindles The parts I'm looking for is.. Brake dust shields Spindle nuts and washers Proportion valve Steel round Rotor end cap Lines to hook up the master cylinder to proportion valve and main brake lines. Brake hose or line to adapt the caliper to existing 67 line. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Part numbers and parts that interchange would be great as well. Thanks in advance. Re: Disc brake conversion help!
I would take a look at the breakdown diagrams that LMC has on their site. They might be a n easy way to find the abnormal stuff like the dust shields and the nuts and washers, as well as the bearing cap. FWIW, the Dorman HELP parts tree at your local store sells generic bearing dust caps that look pretty much similar.
I'd just run an aftermarket prop valve, any of the big online retailers will have probably 30 to choose from. Brake lines.....you bend those yourself.....because...you just do. Same with the brake hose....just flare a new end onto the hard line that matches what the hose needs. Take a look at the "disc brake swap" faq threads (we have one in 60-66, take a look at that if there isn't a specific thread for the 67+
