SBC Vs BBC

Let the battle begin. My 350 is starting to make some noise that i dont like. should i rebuild it or purchase a running 454 that i can get for 350$?????

Persuade me on which motor i should put back in my truck. pics are welcomed..... I am in a bind with money and what to do. i can have the cash for the bbc in a paycheck or two and the sbc will just get run until she decides to quit then ill start the rebuild. Im hoping for a decent 350-400hp on a moderate build. both will probably get a cam and home P&P on the heads an intake and carb

so lets see your engine bays, lets see those burnout videos. lets see those builds please! and please add all the details you can so i can pick which route i want to go

Re: SBC Vs BBC

no replacement for cubic displacement!
take the running 454 (dam the fuel bills), with a few mods you can make some decent, reliable power
my 454 has a stock bottom end (new bearings, rings, etc), edelbrock 2162 cam & EFI, 1:7 rockers, port matched heads & a clean up, hedman's & a 3" dual exhaust. nothing radical, but i can chirp my 38's pretty good. tons of torque, i haul 14000 lbs of camper & toys threw the mountains of bc with no problem
