Possibly my new engine?

http://wausau.craigslist.org/pts/4100518189.html
What do you guys think of this? I have my K20 and i am thinking about getting a new engine for it. I want an engine that can do everything, tow, offroad, and have good power while doing it. Does a 383 Stroker fit that bill?

Re: Possibly my new engine?

to spend that type of money on a motor with an unknown builder with no warrenty is quite foolish

your next post could be " my new engine with 50miles on it blew up"

Re: Possibly my new engine?

That tag on the front of the engine makes me wonder if it is a remanufactured short block. I worked in an Automotive Machine shop for 16 yrs and that is the type of thing you would see on a reman engine. I would be very cautious.

Re: Possibly my new engine?

I know very little about engines. Party due to that fact, I would be very cautious about buying one without a warranty. Unless one is equipped and experienced with doing their own rebuilds, I think it's better to pay more and be more sure of what they are getting.

"Carl, now retired from wherever" doesn't sound very official.

It would be safer to go with a new GM crate motor....Check JEGS website...they offer free shipping on all their crate motors....and they are warrenteed too.
