DE-INSTALL wiring
Ok got my one piece windows in. I am doing away with the electric windows and electric door locks. I really don't want to just cut the wires, I would like to DE-INSTALL them.... Is it possible or is the harness tied into the main harness. I have not torn my dash apart yet... If I did I would probably answer my own question.... I just need to know a bit in advance what I am looking at....

Re: DE-INSTALL wiring
I don't know about all years, but in my '84 the door harness disconnects inside the kick panel on each side of the cab on the inside of where the boot mounts to the cab. If I remember correctly the entire power lock and window part of the harness across the under side of the dash board was also separate, wires bundled together separate from the rest of the harness.

Re: DE-INSTALL wiring
Kalbert is correct. I just put power windows and locks in my truck. The power window and lock harness is separate from the main harness and can be removed. There is a pink wire that plugs into the fuse box for the windows and the one for the locks is orange I believe.

Re: DE-INSTALL wiring
You're making the right choice. Do it clean and correct! You could probably hawk the harness and switches on that auction site and recoup a few bucks.

Re: DE-INSTALL wiring
take it out clean & sell it, my truck was stock with locks/windows but someone hacked the wiring to pieces. its was almost a year search trying to find replacement wiring that wasnt cut.

Re: DE-INSTALL wiring
People are looking for unmolested power lock and window wiring. It'll sell.

Re: DE-INSTALL wiring
I like it simple. Roll up and down windows and my arms are long, I can reach across to unlock it.... Depending how the Cowboys do tomarrow, I may pull it tomarrow
