Rear Brake Hose

Thought I would post here, But

How are you guys getting to the fitting at the hose and metal line broke loose. It is so tight spaced I dont see no way of getting it loose other than cutting the metal hose and piecing it back together.

Any help is appriecated.

I am trying to follow you now are you talking about the metal line on the frame rail? If so just use a 7/16 flare wrench on the line and a 5/8 flare wrench on the hose. If your talking about the tee fitting on the rear axle then take both metal lines off the tee with a wrench 3/8 flare if I remember right. Now take a 9/16 open end wrench and turn the tee off the line then take the keeper off the end and the hose comes out. The bracket for the hose holds the hose from turning but its a good idea to put a wrench on the hose anyway.

It's the hose end that connects to the line at the frame.Not the tee end. I can handle it.

The end at the frame will be a bogger.

I agree and haven't took the time to swap the S/S line I bought for it last winter. I have been putting it off for this very reason.

I also had a time dealing with mine, I have a flair nut wrench but there was times when you needed a second one with the flair clocked a little differently to deal with the tight space. keep at it..

Havent started it yet. Just wondering if you take the bed off if it would be easier to deal with. The bed needs to come off anyway but wasnt wanting to right now but if it would help I'd go and pull it.Just a thought.

I did mine with the bed off (along with a bunch of other stuff) and it was still a little awkward to do as I recall.

I still cant decide if I want to do it or get a friend of my son's to. He is always wanting to come help me do a few things some times. He works on his stuff all the time.

Save me a few head aches.I think.

It is tucked inside the frame rail so nicely that it isn't any easier bed on or off so not really worth the time to pull the bed.

3/4 of the ones at that spot I have pulled apart were rusted to a point the nut was completely seized to the hard line and twisted the line in half trying to get them out. No amount of WD40 pre-soak helped. Hope you don't run into this.
