column shifter?
I have a 74 Chevy long bed with three on the tree. My problem is the column shifter is worn out. I have a lot of extra play between gears and it makes it hard to find the gear you want. I have not found any place to buy any replacement parts for the column shifter. I really do not want to put a floor shifter in it.
any body know of a place the does column shifters? |

Re: column shifter?
I have found later columns seem to be more robust. my 81 is a lot tighter than my 77 despite being abused on the farm.
Don't know of anyone who rebuilds these though. Only suggestion is find a spare and see if you can redo it.

Re: column shifter?
I've always found my problems was not the links but the mechanism inside the column being worn then jamming.
