I am watching it right now. I know Chip will make it better but I liked it just fine as it was too.

Im sorta skeptical of Overhaulin' sometimes but I'll set aside an hour out of my life to watch anyone build a C10.

Haha! "Hot Rods by Boyd" On the truck? how well do you think that went over with Chip? I know Boyd wasn't happy with Chip when he left but I'm not sure how Chip felt.

I am sure Chip is past that now, can't be mad at Boyd anymore, plus Boyd gave him his start, prob just smiled.

Nothing wrong with that one, very nicely done.

I can't argue with that. They aren't immersed in them like we are. Chris even said that Chip "incorporated" houndstooth in the interior like what was used in Chevelles and Camaros. Not beating up on them or being picky, just saying...I guess he didn't know that houndstooth was used in trucks too.

Re: 67 C10 on Overhaulin' Right Now!!
I heard from a legit source that Overhaulin is set up to make you believe it's random people getting their rides fixed up but the truth is its friends or friends of friends and family of people on the show getting their cars done.

Re: 67 C10 on Overhaulin' Right Now!!
What!?!? You mean Hollywood isn't being legit with us??!! Ha. Nice truck. I could care less if it were rigged. Still fun to watch I like to watch the subtle stuff they take the time to do. And I love to nit-pick to my dog how I would've preferred to do it. Ha. Personally, I'm over chevelle stripes on trucks, but still looked great. Glad they included houndstooth!

Re: 67 C10 on Overhaulin' Right Now!!
I thought they shoulda went with the all teal color myself. Thats what I thought the insider said he liked.
Short of dropping it they went pretty far with the build. They only have a few days so to many mods will put them over schedule. Im not much into overhaulin but that was a good one. |

Re: 67 C10 on Overhaulin' Right Now!!
I liked the Houndstooth too. I even liked the 60/40 split. I'm not much on the stripes on the truck either (not knocking anyone so don't blow me up). I liked the Teal color also. I could be an Armchair Critic all day but like Quick60 said, its a quick build. All in all not a bad truck.

Re: 67 C10 on Overhaulin' Right Now!!
NOT true! A young man who worked for me got his nova done. He was well deserving. I know many times people who work on the show Help find, but someone has to find the vehicles. These arent Setups... honest.

Re: 67 C10 on Overhaulin' Right Now!!
I watched it after DVR'ing out all the commercials. In fact, I love the show...depending upon what they are building (personal bias' understood).
I like Chip's focus on his family...In this one, his son was a nice "add". I like how he gets misty over his dad all the time. And, his background with his sibling's heavy load (passed away, I believe) is a testament to the fact that a talented guy in the limelight can hold on to some solid values. On the truck and build in this episode: A couple of mis-statements get the wave from me for the reasons stated before. As do the differences in "style" or "custom touches" that they decide upon... seemingly from very little input from the insiders. I mean, color, and engine and trans choice, and stance, and trim?.....Maybe I'm just too *personal* about my own truck. But everyone doesn't want someone else making those choices on a new-to-you now bucks-up, flashy, hot rod that will likely have to hide out and wait for Sunday....and one that someone else put together while he/she was having heart palpitations somewhere in the background. Granted, if they start with a roach and/or have someone very close to the owner giving build tips, who *wouldn't* want to be "Overhauled"? My list, not that anyone would ever grab RAT and drag it down south for a quick dip in the media bath.....and up from there.... would include: Please don't cut my dash (I don't know why...I just don't want it cut); Please don't put beeg white stripes on the hood (I don't know why...they look good on other folk's truck); Don't give me a big block (I don't know why, I love 'em...but not in my truck) ; Give me a 700r4, please (even though my TH350 works fine), etc. etc. Oh yeah, "Please don't write someone's name under the hood". And, "Yeah, I loved my dad...but if you really want to plaster his name on his old truck, it can can go *inside* the glove box door." Too harsh? Okay. Boyd appeared to be a blustery peckerhead. I watched that show, American Hot Rod, often. I say Boyd "appeared" to be a BP, because we can't possibly know what is real and what is fake by the time it hits the screen. I *do* know that from watching that show, I think Shop Foreman Duane was an AH, and that Boyd lost a lot of folks to other builders. And, I suspect that if Chip was *completely* over Boyd, he'd have asked the producers at Overhaulin to use a different pic of Boyd. I say that being a fat guy that, if I lost a bunch of weight (for whatever reason) would rather not be shown to be as fat as Boyd was in the quick cameo-pic that they used used of Boyd last night. Dead or alive. All in all, fun show, nice truck, good folks, and waaaay more positive than most things on TV....AND, it showcased one of our trucks!!!!

Re: 67 C10 on Overhaulin' Right Now!!
They rerun it multiple times during the week.
I must say I used to really dislike the builds on that show. Seemed like they were always going too far with something. I honestly didn't know the show was still on until I saw posts about it. I just watched it on the dvr, and I really like the subtle changes that were made. Nothing crazy, just done very well.
